Critiques, competitions, demonstrations, workshops & programs are offers at bi-monthly meetings to help members improve their photographic skills. Members are happy to share their knowledge & experience in all phases of photography.
We welcome you to come to the meetings at no charge and see if membership is right for you!
There are seven monthly contests for prints and projected images each year.
- There is 1 class for Prints, and 2 divisions – Color and Monochrome.
- There are 2 classes of projected images competition:
- Class A for beginners, &
- Class AA for the more advanced.
- An outside judge critiques & scores each entry.
Each entry must be the work of the entrant & labeled with a title and maker’s name. Prints may be commercially or home-printed and should be matted but not framed in glass.
Two separate Projected Images divisions are Color and Nature. In Nature, primary consideration is given to factual information or the nature story. Domestic plants and animals are not permitted. Specific subjects such as a Nevada image, wildflowers or landscapes may be assigned.
Points are awarded and ribbons presented monthly. At year’s end awards are presented for the highest cumulative score.
In addition to the Programs at the meetings, there are also periodic Field Trips to photogenic sites in the area as well as seasonal Scavenger Hunts.
